Well designed bags, a pleasure to use.
I recently purchased a Miele Capricorn, and they use the style G/N bags.

I’m quite impressed with the Miele bags. I’m used to having to deal with paper vacuum bags, the kind that have a cardboard flange which has to be pushed onto a stem or hose in the bag compartment: the kind of bag that always seems to have dirt sifting out of it when it’s time to install a fresh bag.

It’s a pleasure to use Miele vacuum bags. They’re made of a nonwoven fabric which is lined with aluminum foiled plastic, and they have a plastic flange that neatly snaps into a holder. It’s impossible to install them incorrectly because of some thoughtfully-designed arrow guides. Once the bag is snapped into place and the door of the bag compartment is lowered, the vacuum hose automatically inserts into the Miele vacuum bag.

When it’s time to change the bag, all I have to do is hold the bag by two little tabs at the top of the flange, and lift it up out of the holder. A plastic tab rolls down over the opening in the bag, automatically sealing the bag for disposal.

Someone put a lot of thought into the design of these bags and it shows!

My ordered arrived quickly and undamaged. There was a description disparity with the 5 pack Miele bag advertised which only contained 4 bags. I contacted the seller, and Mr. Witbeck responded personally and quickly with his explanation and an apology. The seller offered to ship me the 5th bag, and the very next day a new box containing 4 more bags arrived. The seller went above and beyond the call of duty, and for that this seller earned the 5* rating in spite of the mistake. I would gladly do business with Witbecks again.

I am thrilled with the Miele system. The bags caught most, if not all (hey I don’t have a microscope) of my dust, dust mites and their and my blech. I live in Oregon, land of 24/7 365 moisture. So dust mites love it here. And I happen to live in a valley… grass grass pollen pollen. I also have a cat that loves to quite literally roll around in the dirt. After testing a Miele Aquarius on my entire carpeted apartment, it was a no brainer to get a Miele. The first night I had my loaner from a friend I thoroughly cleaned my bedroom and that night I slept better. In the morning instead of going through a dozen or more tissues I just needed one. I also did not have to blow my nose in the middle of the night. I already have an amazing non-toxic mattress that the mites can’t live in so I knew the problem was carpet, dust and moisture related. I ended up with the Gemini Miele as I don’t need the Automatic (extra function) of the Aquarius. I did want the backlit knob indicator which is why I went with the Gemini over the Callisto. I purchased through Witbecks and they have been amazing in service and I would definitely buy from them again.

ps. People, if you have allergies… look at your laundry detergent too…. I am simply flabbergasted how many people say they have allergies and use scented detergent, fabric softener, and dryer sheets!!!!!! That synthetic fragrance is definitely exacerbating any allergies you may have. That includes any ‘plug-ins’ or the like. Those products are actually quite toxic over time, they damage your olfactory senses (nose) and pollute the air, not freshen it.

Love Is In The Air

I vacuumed while my daughter was napping…I could have never done that w/the upright Kenmore I’m retiring. I’m so happy with this purchase. I will update this review in 6 months (writing reminder in my Franklin). Yes, yes love is in the air.

Six months is around the corner. I am still in love. Can I just tell you that my cleaning habits have changed…I once vacuumed once a week maybe twice, since I received my Miele I vacuum every other day (it’s crazy I know)I’m so addicted to the clean feeling plus I want to share this scent secret with you…when I change the vacuum bag I put 14-18 drops of my favorite essential oil on cotton ball vacuum it up & every time I vacuum that scent is distributed thru the whole house. My favorite scent right now is Lemongrass by Aura Cacia…so natural. I don’t know about you but we have 2 pooches and after a few vacuums you can get a musty rank smelling vacuum air…well the essential oil prevents that smell completely.

Back to the vacuum itself. It really does perform like all the 5 stars it’s rated to be. Good luck I hope you do invest in one of these beauties. Your gonna be in love.

Is it wrong to love a vacuum?!
Wow, I had a very hard time spending this much money for a Vacuum. It was worth every penny. I have vacuumed every surface it my house twice! Save money someplace else. When you look at how long you have a vacuum then this is money well spent. It moves easy, is super light, the tools give you an option for every surface. The normal floor tool rotates in a way that lets you get into tiny spots under furniture. It is so quiet. Love love love the retractable cord. I wish all appliances had that feature. Oh and it’s pretty. I am sold on Miele.

Great for Pet Owners and Hardwood floors
I love this vaccum. I live in a 3 floor townhouse with mostly hardwood floors and tile. I was trying to keep on top of my cat’s shedding with a swiffer but it just wasn’t enough. I bought this vacuum in may. I use the parquet floor tool constantly. The vacuum sucks up all the pet hair,dust, cat litter, cast food, dirt etc. You can extend the metal bar. That has been very helpful when vacumming my stairs and also allowing as big a distance as possible when sucking up bugs. The vacuum is light and is more quiet than the average vacuum. (my cat is deathly afraid of vaccuums. and he is just slightly afraid of this one) The bags are a great size. I have been using the first one since I got it in may and it is only 1/2 way full. I would recommend Miele to everyone. The people at the vacuum store told me that out of every 20 vacuums that come in for repair 7 are Dyson and they very very rarely get miele’s in for repair. (they sell both miele and dyson) Another bonus of owning a miele is that you can order parts even for vacuums 10+ years old. For other brands you would have to just buy a new vacuum. This is easy to use and very light weight. It was just what I needed between weekly visits from the wonderful person who actually vacuums for me (I HATE vacuuming with a passion).

I have a cat and a dog and I garden (sloppily) so I needed something like this that I’d actually use. I took it out of the box, assembled it in about a minute (without even having to read the directions) and I cleaned up my kitchen. It pulled up an amazing amout of fur, etc. Now I’m looking for things to clean.

It took me a few trys to get the emptying part down, but it’s easy. Just remove the main unit from the “stick” and empty it over a trash can or empty it over a piece of newspaper on the floor. Since the body is plastic a bit of the fine dust may cling to the outer case, so have a damp paper towel handy to give it a quick exterior wipe. No big deal.

The price is so incredibly reasonable that I bought another one to keep next to the kitty litter box.

Great Vaccum with cool upholstery
My 3 year old dirtdevil Vacuum cleaner gave up and I headed to the research room on Amazon to consider a replacement. After extensive research I zeroed in on this and Hoover 5507-900. Hoover was more expensive and did not have the tools and upholstery available on this Vacuum. I still had my doubts on Bissell hence I headed to Target to check the Vacuum myself. I was impressed with what I saw and I ordered this on Amazon.

Out of the box this Vacuum was very easy to assemble and quite user friendly. The motor was very powerful and it cleaned the dirt from the carpet with ease. It also had adjustable knob for power variation and had one for bare-floor surfaces. The dirt container was very easy to replace and the extra dusting brush with extension wand made hard to reach places very easy to clean. Whats more this vacuum worked like charm on my Vacuum storage bags. It removed the air out of the bag in 30 seconds flat.

I would definitely recommend this Vacuum cleaner who doesn’t want to waste money on Hoover or even worst Dyson and still wants to keep clean.

Best Vacuum Ever
I have a carpet and a cat and this vacuum is amazing I’ve had more expensive but they do not compare to this vacuum. It is a little more bulky then most vacuums out now but i highly recommended this for anyone with pets

It passed the Black Sofa Test
The vacuum just came in. I took it out of the box, and it took all of two minutes to assemble. I ran it over the rugs of my two-bedroom apartment and it picked up everything in its path. I noticed the tank needed to be dumped more than my Hoover Wind Tunnel, but it’s a good trade-off, because once the bottom of the Wind Tunnel’s tank got full, it just gave up.
What I was really looking to give it–being a pet owner–was the extreme test on my black, cloth, sofa. Unlike other vacuum’s that come with a nozzle surrounded by brushes that just seem to push the pet hair around, this comes with a turbo brush, which is like a mini version of the vacuum’s main turbo brush. It cleaned off the sofa in minutes and left it spotless.
I know it’s new, so as to how it wears, I can’t tell you. But, I normally can tell within a few minutes whether I’ve spent well, or spent bad.
I would say this was money well spent.

Good Things Come In Small Packages
This little vacuum packs in power and innovative design. From the first try, I was amazed at the suction. The first time through the house I quickly filled the bag and had to change it. The Intensity pulled up all the little carpet fuzz on the 3-year-old carpet that my old vacuum could never get. It has more power than any other vacuum I’ve used.

The collapsing design is a nice feature. It folds up into a neat little package that fits easily on a closet floor without running into the coats. I love the controls on the top of the handle. You can go from bare floor to carpet with the touch of a button. The cord retracts nicely. The bag is easy to change, though a bit small, well, because the vacuum is small.

I discovered a nice fail-safe feature when I tried to finish the room when the full bag light was on. The vacuum shut off. I waited a bit to let it cool down, changed the bag, and it started right up. So pay attention to that light.

Overall, the design is fantastic. A couple improvements though would make it even better. For it’s small size, light weight and those big wheels, it doesn’t corner all that easily. The front is nice and flat and has an edge for going under cabinets, but since the front is the same width as the back, you can’t go straight under cabinets. You have to go at an angle and keep adjusting the position. So making the front part a little wider than the back would make going under cabinets a breeze.

Also, if it didn’t have that big carrying handle on the top of the canister, it would vacuum right under the bed. The handle isn’t positioned well anyway for doing stairs, because when you hold it by the handle to maneuver on stairs, it’s too back heavy and tips back. A handle placed a little farther back on the canister would solve that problem – and it would vacuum under the bed.

There are no attachments with this vacuum, but I prefer that it do it’s job on the floors and I use a cordless vacuum for furniture, edging and stairs anyway.

Please don’t write this vacuum off as a secondary, light-duty vacuum. Even though it’s small, it’s a full-duty whole house vacuum with plenty of suction.

Wish I’d bought it a year ago!
I noticed this vacuum for sale about a year ago – mainly because of the pretty ingenious, apartment-closet-friendly design – but figured it couldn’t be *that* much better than the one I was already using. In the spirit of fiscal responsibility, I put it off. Boy, was I wrong.

Y’know the other review, where the person talks about filling a bag on the first go? You figure they must either be a reforming ‘dirty person’ or exaggerating. It seems a stretch. Whelp – I’m no ‘dirty person’ of any kind, and when I was through the living room and midway through the bedroom the ‘change bag’ light came on. I sighed, figuring that the sensor was off, and tugged off the cover to check it.

Whaddaya know? Full to the brim with stuff I had *no* idea had been hiding from my other vacuum. Ew.

I went through one more bag. I vacuumed three rooms. You do the math.

My carpet looks pretty splendid this morning. Needless to say, I’m pleased. I never woulda thunk it, but I wish I’d bought this thing when I first noticed it so the equivalent of the two bags of crud that went down the trash chute wouldn’t be in my lungs right now.

Quality Vacuum but too small of a disposable bag
Don’t expect to use this vacuum for ALL your cleaning needs. Its excellent quality , with nice features and GREAT suction, however the disposable bag is much too small. I vacuumed 2 wool rugs that are a year old and previously vacuumed many times with my old Oreck and filled the bag the first time I used it. Folds up to a small foot print and the wire recoil is a nice feature but its demise is the small bag unless you don’t mind purchasing bags frequently

Does a decent job
Machine works OK — go slow, use the Hoover floor and grout cleaners and be prepared to refill and empty several times on all but the really small jobs. We have over 1000sq.ft of tile and it really takes a lot of time and refills. It is amazing how much more dirt this machine picks up after a vacuuming and wet mopping.

Good vacuum
Pros:
1. It does a great job on tile floors. Much easier than a regular mop and it seems to get up more dirt. It does my kitchen floor very quickly and the floor really does seem clean afterward.

Cons:
1. It does not do a great job on tough dirt spots but I think those require a hand scrubbing anyway.
2. I’ve noticed that it leaves streaks on the wood floors but I’m trying to figure out if it’s something I’m doing wrong.
3. The attachments are more trouble than they are worth. Although they do clean in tight spots, it’s a pain to clean the hose and attachments at the end. I’ve concluded that it is just easier to get those small spots by hand verses having to spend the time at the end cleaning the attachments.

Overall, I would buy this machine again. It’s the best thing out there in my opinion. And I can’t say enough about how well it cleans tile foors.

Hoover 3060 FloorMate Review
I ordered this machine with some trepidation after reading what others had to say in their reviews. I also decided to upgrade to this system over the smaller unit which sells for less money. However, after using it for the first time to clean over 2700sf of tile and marble, I am very happy with the machine on most accounts. Yes, one must move slowly to accomplish the best cleaning job, but that is true of doing it by hand as well. I start at one wall and follow the row of tile to the other wall, move to the next row, and so on, until a room is completely cleaned. This way, I do not forget where I last cleaned, nor do I miss any spots. It goes at about the same pace as using a buffing machine on tile floors. The nasty, dirty water collecting in the lower reservoir is testament to the job the Spin Mate is doing.

The negatives: the cleaning solution is overpriced and the reservoir doen’t hold very much. I had to refill 9 times to clean my floors. The add-on tools are pretty useless, they just seem to spray out cleaning solution without much cleaning taking place.

The positives: No dirty mop water left on the floor! No scrubbing on hands and knees! The grout brushes do a very nice job on my grout lines, which are all done with brown-toned grouts. Thank goodness I had sense enough when putting in these floors to stay away from white grout!
My summary: if you are patient enough to let this machine move at it’s own pace across your floors, and you do it in a systematic way, you will be very pleased with how clean and fresh your floors look and smell.

By the way, a long-time janitor friend told me to always use only a dab of cleaner in proportion to water when doing floors, as the cleaners build up over time resulting in a sticky mess. Therefore, I used only 1/4 of the recommended cleaning solution in my mixture, and used very hot water.
Hope this helps anyone else who is considering this cleaning machine.

Excellent for hardwood floors and small area rug
I am happy with the ease of use, power, and portability of this vacuum cleaner. We had a canister before that needed so much storage space and parts to be put together before we can use it. Now, the upright is just there and ready to go. It cleans our hardwood floors, tile bathroom, kitchen linoleum, and office rug area very efficiently. I noticed that the dust doesn’t blow around or settle on the floor but is actually sucked into the bag! The HEPA filter addition is a plus with 2 cats! I highly recommend it. It is a bit on a “heavy side” (about 10lbs.), so that’s a consideration. But for me, it’s a good way to workout my arms.

Worth every penny!
I was a little apprehensive about spending more than $200 on a stick vacuum, but the Miele S163 is definitely worth it. First of all, it’s quiet, so you definitely don’t need to turn it off to hear the phone/doorbell ring. The best thing about it is the amazing suction…my carpet looked brand-new and my sofa hasn’t been as lint-free since I bought it. The S163 does not come with the HEPA filter like the S168 does (but you can get one for less than $110, which is what the price difference is). The S163 comes with two attachments: the crevice nozzle and upholstery brush. It has a carpet/floor switch, too, and works wonders on my hardwood floors. The electrical cord is nice and long (I can vacuum a few rooms of my small condo at a time without having to unplug). All in all, a great buy!

Great Miele upright vacuum machine!
We recently bought this Miele vacuum as we heard it was good for cat hair and allergies. We added the Hepa filter because it was recommended online, esp. if the household has a couple of pets, like we do. Through reading other reviews, we gathered that this smallish Miele was ideal for a space like ours: hardwood floors, a couple of carpets, not huge.

The vacuum is just a bit heavy-feeling, but its not bad at all. The pivoting works very well, and the suction is great. It really seemed to do a good job. It also stores very easily, hanging by its handle on a hook or a nail in a closet.

It is also a really attractive piece of machinery. I gave it the full five stars because I do “love it” at this point. Hope it holds up well, I think it will.

I’m in LOVE with my vacuum!
I have both a Miele Blue Moon and Capricorn canister vac.
The Capricorn is the newer model. I bought it not because the Blue Moon broke, but because I LOVED my Blue Moon SO MUCH I wanted to own the newer model.
There is simply no better vacuum on the market.
I have two long hair cats and the vacuum cleans a patch of hairy carpet with ONE pass. It’s hand held power brush is also outstanding- cleans the upholstery and carpet steps as nicely as the power head.
It’s a big investment, but after the frustration of owning many vacs that just didn’t do the job, this is nirvana.
Have I mentioned I’m in LOVE with my vacuum cleaner?

Powerful little machine, my new best friend!
I have 3 dogs and one cat and was without a vacuum for seven weeks until this arrived at my door. No problems sucking up all that hair and dirt – all gone. What power!! Yes, a couple of small complaints, but it wouldn’t change my star rating or my love for the machine. Yes, the power cord is short and you have to constantly change it, but I’ll get used to that. The powerbrush head is a little big and doesn’t go everywhere my old Royal head went, but it does swivel to my heart’s content and that makes up for it. It is pricey, but worth it as it has such wonderful POWER. Oh, one more thing for me to get used to is the hose is rather short and the canister is right behind me, but that is a good thing. My old Royal had a long hose and it was so far behind that it constantly banged into the wall and made marks, this way I have total control over the canister and it won’t be going anywhere I don’t want it to go. Also easy to store, fits in the closet like a dream. And, I can hear the phone ring while I am vacuuming – a first. Bottom line – Buy it – you’ll be happy with this little, quiet, but POWERFUL machine. I know I am.

Well worth the investment!
I can’t say enough about the quality of this product except that it is worth every penny! We have three pets and our Miele never disappoints.

The Capricorn that we purchased comes with the deluxe power brush, as well as the wood & tile floor attachment. Both heads clean carpets and hard surfaces quickly and relatively quietly with minimal effort on the part of the user. In the past, I had to move furniture in order to clean around legs; however, the hardwood/tile attachment is flexible and glides in and out of those hard to reach places. The canister is lightweight and easy to maneuver while vacuuming with the hand tools on the staircase.

Yes, the Miele Capricorn is more expensive than most but we’ve owned ours for about nine months now and my only regret is that it took so long to take the leap, as it is a time saver and cleans more thoroughly than any other vacuum that I’ve used in the past.

Perfect for apartments and small houses
We live in a cottage with a dog, and the indoor air quality was getting so bad that I couldn’t breathe at night (and I don’t have allergies to anything). The old canister vac was pretty ineffective, and the worn-out cord was a fire hazard.

This canister vac, while a little expensive for the price tag, is such a fantastic replacement. I debated going down to Sears or Target and just picking up a hundred dollar vac like I’ve done many a time before, but they always disappoint me.

The operation of the Carina is smooth and extraordinarily quiet (the dog no longer hides when the vacuum is running). I upgraded to the optional HEPA filter and the exhaust air, while not pine-fresh, smells clean. A few basic attachments were enough to get window sills, shelves, crown molding, and floors done. It picked up enough dirt, dust, and dog hair that I can finally sleep soundly at night.

There’s just one problem, which I have seen mentioned elsewhere — short power cord (hence 4 stars instead of 5). This machine isn’t going to work as well in suburbia; it’s a compact machine for compact spaces, and probably more suitable for urban dwellers. I had to replug when moving from the kitchen to the bedroom, but otherwise, it worked great.

Once you use a Miele, you will never use another
This canister vacuum is perfect for multitasking quickly and easily. I have carpeting, wood, and vinyl floors in my house and used two different vacuums for it. When I bought the Miele, I was able to get rid of the other two cleaners and use this one throughout.

It does an incredible job of getting up everything: pet hair, dust, crumbs, little bits of “stuff”, those nasty dust bunnies and illusive corner cob webs which seem to appear overnight as if by magic (or maybe time to get new glasses!).

In one room during a Spring clean, I started at the top – literally! Went from the ceiling and the molding down to the walls – curtains – floors – lamp shades – and everything else in between. All I had to do was change the cleaning head and adjust the suction amount. All simply and quickly done.

The fact that it is also fairly quiet was a real bonus. I could actually vacuum while little one was taking his nap … now THAT is a major plus for any appliance!

I know the price is high but you are paying for the quality of the vacuum – an investment if you will. It is very well made and will last for many, many years. I recommend this vacuum highly.

Ok my wife came home with this,It looked crazy but it works extremely well .I love the bagless design which is very easy to empty,no more wasted money on bags you throw out.Great suction use it on hardwood with dog hair The only complaint i have is the cord length is way to short and the cord recoil is so slow it makes me want to design a upgrade kit.

Best vacuum ever!
After buying an expensive new rug, I decided I needed to get a decent vacuum–they are hard to come by, in my experience. I thought about getting a Dyson, but worried about purchasing something relatively expensive without knowing how it would perform. So, I read the reviews here–and bought one, the canister model. It is easy to use (once you figure it out, lol), and it does a splendid job. Vacuuming is relatively effortless. As some here have said, the Dyson makes vacuuming fun. (I can’t believe I said that!)

DC21 Review- Didn’t like it
I purchased the DC21 stowaway and just got in yesterday and to tell you the truth I was not impressed the design at all. I had a DC14 Animal and loved it but wanted a 2nd Dyson to retire the other one. The canister has excellent suction power but cord is WAY to short and bin WAY to small for my 2 dog/2 cat household. I really hated the vacuum wand, its too large and bulky and you cant disconnect the house from the wand which I like to do to really get deep into corners and vacuum table to dust. Also the attachments are kind of useless, they do not snap in they are merely held by suction and attached to the end of bulky handle gun thingy, they felt wobbly and popped off several times. The house kept getting getting twisted and I just didn’t like it all, not compared to the animal upright.
If you really like to dust and get into nooks and crannys with a vacuum cleaner I would not recommend this product. I decided to return mine for the DC 25 animal. I purchased the vacuum from [...], and they include a whole bunch of free tools, including a turbine head for free. I paid [...] w/ free shipping and free turbine tool and angled brush, Great deal. I would highly recommend purchasing from this site, the customer service excellent!
